Music helps a great deal in learning English. Yes, it does and most of us have learnt a lot from Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Spice Girls, Britney Spears et al unknowingly. Well these are the popular names from my generation. I won’t know the current ones. Singing not only helps to improve the vocabulary but it also makes one happy and lightens up the mood. And trust me even if you are not a good singer, singing will still make you happy. So many benefits of singing along to learn English.

Here are 4 reasons why you should learn English and sing along.

1) IMPROVES YOUR PRONUNCIATIONS

There are a lot of popular songs that can teach us world pronunciations. The pronunciations sometimes vary from one song to another. This is due to the region where the music was launched.

For example, the difference between American English and British English is widely known. There is a difference in the pronunciation of words in both the styles. You can listen to various songs and sing along to get the correct pronunciation and trust me this method is very useful.

I get a lot of students of wish to speak like the native speakers. Singing is a good way to get native pronunciations.

2) BUILDS YOUR CONFIDENCE

While tuning in to a song, you repeat the various words that are used in the song. Therefore, it helps you to build your confidence and imbibe those words in your vocabulary. Another great thing in today’s time is that you can look up for words anytime on Google. So if you do not understand a particular word or a phrase you know that your dictionary is two taps away.

3) FUN LEARNING

When you sing, it also makes you happy and joyful. Therefore, you do not feel like you are book learning. You naturally feel the joy, you enjoy the music and then you also enjoy learning. Learning that is fun is always better than learning that feels like a compulsion.

4) IMPROVES YOUR VOCABULARY

Another great reason to learn while singing is to learn new words and other parts of the English language. You may find it difficult to remember a set of words or some particular usage of English words. Therefore, when you sing, you keep repeating the song in your head all day and learn new words, expressions, phrases etc. Such a fun learning in easy way.
